On April 24, the Metro State Cyber Clinic and Cybersecurity and Forensics Student Organization (CFSO) were honored to host a special guest speaker session featuring Chris Gabbard and Jennifer Lotze from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). The Cybersecurity State Representatives for Minnesota provided an engaging and informative presentation about CISA’s mission, operations, and role in national cybersecurity. During the session, Gabbard and Lotze discussed CISA’s approach to cybersecurity risk assessments, the agency’s support for critical infrastructure, and the importance of cross-sector collaboration. They also shared valuable insights into career pathways within CISA and offered guidance on how Metro State Cybersecurity students can prepare for opportunities within the agency.
The event was a unique opportunity for students to connect with federal cybersecurity professionals, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the cybersecurity landscape at the national level. It also highlighted CISA's commitment to workforce development and Metro State’s role in preparing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
