Metro State University’s Cyber Clinic welcomed 26 high school students from the Anoka-Hennepin School District on April 3 for an interactive, hands-on introduction to the university’s Cybersecurity program. The visit was designed to highlight the depth and real-world relevance of Metro State’s cyber offerings. Students engaged with a variety of activities led by current Cyber Clinic students, experiencing core cybersecurity concepts firsthand—from open-source intelligence (OSINT) and ethical hacking labs to USB Rubber Ducky demos and lockpicking as a lesson in physical security.
The event served as a powerful demonstration of Metro State’s applied learning approach and the unique opportunities offered through its Cybersecurity program. Students also had the chance to ask questions about campus life, as they explored what it might be like to pursue a cyber degree at Metro. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from both students and school staff reinforced Metro State’s reputation as a regional leader in cybersecurity education, committed to preparing the next generation of cyber professionals through innovation, mentorship, and hands-on experience.
